Donation now if you can even find any.

Up until the Swaggart sales tax court decision(WT filed an amicus) there was a required donation for just the cost of production which was 25 cents for a magazine.

When it became voluntary there was a push to get donations by asking.

The newly released large print bible was "free" except tge announcement mentioned how "this Bible would cost well over a $100 In store"

There are people who will die at armageddon for lack of a quarter to learn the truth back then.!!!

there was on older white-haired circuit overseer in houston around 1989 or 1990. last name started with a w i think.... not sure though.

Names escape me. I met one in a porn peep shop-big surprise and the 2 witness rule saved both us.

There was a yo-yo that was being matched with my wife so she could take care of him. Surprise, her health failed so I take care if her instead.

i have a question regarding the current blood card- did the blood card always have a spot where the jw gives the elders the authority to pull the plug (so to speak) and to admit them to a long term facility?

as well as no blood, naturally.

if the elders have no financial responsibility how is this possible?

Blanket authority given to the HLC on the form.. Bull##. I know one HLC member who thinks heis hot shit. Pestered wifes nurse with personal questions when visiting. Broke HIPPA.

My doctor had a form with better wording on end decisions.

memory from long ago: my old mate from high school lived next door to a jw and was often "treated" to the latest jw literature.

when the "you can live forever in paradise on earth"* book came out, this neighbour waxed lyrical about how good this book was and how powerful the message was.

he acted really keen about it, like it was the greatest thing since sliced bread.

New publications are online and revised weekly. Rewrites old ones with more confusing language and dumbed down. There is a scripture about making many books but they apply it to others not themselves.

I think even the pimi are getting jaded

Waking Them Up When They Feel Safe

good morning all, i would love some genuine advice please.. i have an old friend who is still in the org, but has never been the very staunch type.

however, she is going through a very rough patch in life, (past deeds from youth caught up and now is in prison) and i reached out to her by old fashioned snail mail.. by her reply she sounds more pimi than ever and finding some sort of comfort in the literature.

would i be wrong to attempt to wake her up, would that actually be a cruel thing to do right now?

Kingdom hall cleaning

what are your memories of hall cleaning?.

i actually enjoyed it on the whole, my dad as the elder always tried to keep it to under one hour but in my later years in a hard-line congregation it was a chore.

the po's wife had a printed list and we had to complete it all before left (or got disapproving looks if we left after an hour).. as well as vacuuming the whole building the lost said you had to dismantle the vacuum and clean and polish all the internal elements.

A Few Simple Conclusions

1. the one true religion is not here.

Maybe true religion is agnosticism. Every culture seems to have a need for explanation of life and creation.

In my case the higher power better hurry because I am getting old. A separate spirit doesn't fit because there would be an overflow from all the discarded bodies
